Pay: $26-$29/hr + .60 shift primium
Contract: 9-month contract to hire (many convert earlier)
Shift Options: Sun - Thurs: 6p - 230a OR 7p - 330a Or 8p - 430a - Flexible
Location: Indianapolis, IN (west side)
An established industrial operation is seeking an experienced Jr. Industrial Electrician to support electrical systems at a regulated processing facility. This role focuses on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment supporting plant operations. The environment includes a mix of indoor and outdoor work and exposure to industrial systems and controls.
This is a hands-on role suited for electricians who enjoy problem-solving, working with industrial equipment, and supporting critical infrastructure.
Our Client is looking for a Jr. Industrial Electrician. They will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying electrical devices and systems associated with feeder / branch circuits and over-current protection at a TSDF facility.
Responsibilities
- Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
- Conducts weekly / monthly calibrations as required by regulatory agencies
- Serves as an active member of the Plant Emergency Response Team (PERT); ensures electrical shutdown in case of an emergency
- Operates forklift or similar machinery as needed
- Maintains an understanding of and adherence to related State and Federal rules for waste management
- Utilizes the appropriately required personal protective equipment (PPE), as this position works around hazardous materials
- Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
- High-school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Certified Electrical Journeyman -OR- an Associate degree in an electrical related field (required)
- 1+ years of experience as an electrician (required)
- Previous experience working with PLCs (preferred)
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Strong knowledge of electrical concepts and National Electric Codes (NEC)
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
