Lead Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

Service Operations Management

  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of mechanics and technicians
  • Assign tasks and monitor workflow to ensure timely and efficient completion of repairs
  • Diagnosing complex mechanical issues and performing advanced repairs when necessary
  • Inspect equipment and vehicles to identify maintenance needs
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards
  • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and maintenance logs
  • Order and manage parts, tools, and inventory
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules
  • Assist in developing and implementing maintenance procedures and best practices
  • Communicate with management regarding repair timelines, costs, and equipment status



Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred)
  • 5+ years of mechanical experience (industry-specific experience may be required)
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
  • Excellent problem-solving skills



Work Schedule

Full‑time, on‑site
Standard Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm (1‑hour unpaid lunch)

Additional hours may be required for:

  • Increased workloads
  • Time‑sensitive repairs
  • Internal customer needs
  • Occasional night or weekend coverage

Work Environment

Working conditions may include:

  • Temperature and humidity extremes
  • Frequent exposure to noise and vibration
  • Variable lighting conditions
  • Occasional independent work
  • Extended or irregular work hours


Travel

Up to 25%. Travel may be required to support other locations or road crews.


Physical Requirements

Continuous: Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity, color distinction, driving

Occasional: Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
