Lead Python Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Python Engineer to become part of our team. This role centers on advancing cloud infrastructure, automation workflows, and engineering practices within an AWS-focused setting. The position provides the chance to lead meaningful migrations, support AI-enabled engineering improvements, and help establish secure, scalable platform foundations. Responsibilities Work within a spec-driven software development lifecycle Build AI-powered improvements for design, delivery, and triage processes Evaluate new tools and solutions as possible candidates for enterprise-level AI enablement offerings Architect, develop, and maintain AWS Lambda services and API Gateway endpoints with Python and boto3 Spearhead the CI/CD transition from legacy cicd-functions pipelines to GitHub Actions workflows Oversee infrastructure as code through Terraform as the main tool, complemented by Serverless frameworks Perform brownfield refactors, service retirements, and migrations, including OAuth migrations, WAF block-mode rollouts, and Mythos SAST/SCA remediations Set up and tune AWS WAF rules while addressing security issues identified by SAST and SCA tooling Streamline operational workflows and support agentic platform efforts, with familiarity with tools like n8n, LangChain, or comparable orchestration solutions seen as an advantage Work alongside the SRE Consultant on telemetry gaps and Lambda-driven data collection automation Requirements At least 5 years of relevant professional background A minimum of one year guiding and managing development teams Python development expertise focused on AWS Lambda and API Gateway in production settings Strong command of boto3 across services such as IAM, Secrets Manager, SSM, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and WAF Practical Terraform experience for production-grade infrastructure as code, covering authoring, refactoring, and reviewing modules Working knowledge of the Serverless Framework, including supporting and migrating legacy stacks Hands-on creation of CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, with confidence in leading a cicd-functions to GHA transition Background in configuring AWS WAF rules, switching on block mode, and assisting with incident response Knowledge of security tooling like SAST and SCA, plus exposure to a structured compliance program Brownfield orientation with a demonstrated history of migrations, decommissions, and refactors rather than greenfield builds Excellent spoken and written English communication abilities (B2+ level or higher) Nice to have Background in connecting internal and third-party systems via REST APIs, including patterns such as ServiceNow OAuth client credentials flows Knowledge of Snowflake for cloud data warehousing, analytics, and data platform integration
