Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Software Engineer, Analytics Technology, who will take charge of architecting, building, supporting, and growing applications and modules for the Analytics Technology Business under the LSEG Data and Analytics Division. The core of this role is bringing together modern technologies, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and open-source tools with current products and solutions, aiming to fulfill business goals, drive growth, and enhance performance and efficiency. Responsibilities * Operate within a mid-sized engineering group to craft creative solutions addressing customer technology demands * Construct and support compute platforms for financial models that serve both internal and external clients * Plan, deploy, and look after infrastructure that powers a variety of applications * Continually enhance the current compute infrastructure regarding speed, quality, and efficiency * Architect, present, and partner with other groups on technical approaches to solve intricate business and technical goals * Engage with large-scale data sources, covering both relational and NoSQL databases * Transition applications to the cloud smoothly to keep services running without interruption * Estimate schedules and resources for sophisticated projects and team up with other groups to bring initiatives across the finish line * Earn trust and form solid connections with senior technical personnel to share challenges and influence development direction * Help shape products relied upon by top financial institutions across the globe * Participate in strategic efforts that significantly affect the company's bottom line Requirements * A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience * At least one year of experience guiding and managing development teams * Direct experience creating C/C++ enterprise solutions, including services and databases * Demonstrated background working on large-scale projects * Hands-on familiarity with Linux/Unix-based environments * Practical experience using Python or other high-level programming languages * Strong abilities in communication, organization, and coordination * Proven track record of collaborating with globally distributed teams across multiple sites and time zones * Solid foundation in the software development lifecycle and delivery-focused roles * High-level C/C++ programming proficiency, covering data structures, networking, databases, and services * Real-world experience deploying C/C++ services to the cloud using tools such as K9S and Lambdas * Strong analytical mindset and quantitative capabilities * Willingness to work on-site in New York occasionally (preferred, though other US locations are possible) * Excellent verbal and written English communication skills (B2+ level or higher) Nice to have * Background working with AWS or Azure cloud technologies and tooling * Acquaintance with Azure cloud, especially as a migration destination * Practical experience with Kubernetes and related infrastructure tools * Insight into Fixed Income Securities and Markets * Strong quantitative skill set paired with exposure to the Fixed Income market * Experience operating in teams with multiple contributors and cross-team partnerships * Track record of working in high-impact, high-visibility engineering positions * Experience handling solution-driven, tactical work in complex environments We offer * International projects with top brands * Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers * Healthcare benefits * Employee financial programs * Paid time off and sick leave * Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses * Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses * Global career opportunities * Volunteer and community involvement opportunities * EPAM Employee Groups * Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn
