M&E Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning& (Design) Coordination

  • Review M&E drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate design details with architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Identify clashes between M&E systems and structural/architectural elements (clash detection).

2. Project Scheduling & Resource Management

  • Develop and monitor M&E work schedules aligned with project timelines.
  • Plan manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
  • Monitor progress and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.

3. Site Coordination & Supervision

  • Oversee installation of M&E systems on-site.
  • Ensure proper sequencing of works to avoid delays or conflicts.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify quality and compliance.
  • Organise site meeting, liaise and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues.

4. Technical& Quality Assurance

  • Verify and ensure that installations meet design intent and technical specifications.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of M&E systems
  • Maintain documentation of inspections, approvals, and test results.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.

5. Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the main point of contact for M&E-related matters.
  • Liaise with Consultants to resolve technical issues and discrepancies found between documents, request for missing information.
  • Provide updates to project managers, consultants, and clients.
  • Coordinate with other trades (civil, architectural, structural) to avoid conflicts.

6. Risk &Issue Management

  • Identify potential risks in M&E works and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems during installation.
  • Implement and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.

7. Documentation& Reporting

  • Prepare progress reports, technical submissions, and approval documents.
  • Prepare, submit and obtain approval for M&E shop drawing, Combined Services Drawings …etc.
  • Maintain records of material deliveries, inspections, and approvals.
  • Ensure proper handover documentation at project completion.

8. Project Closeout

  • Oversee final testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems.
  • Ensure warranty and maintenance manuals are provided and in order.
  • Assist the Contract Team in project final account closing.
  • Support post-construction defect rectification.

9. General Duties

  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling project information.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time in relation to your appointment.

Qualifications& Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in M&E design, project coordination, or system integration.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
