The Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM), a non-profit organisation founded in 1997, with the objective of raising the standards of civil behaviour and responsibility. SKM is a catalyst and collaborates with partners to activate and implement kindness initiatives that aim to improve kindness and graciousness in Singapore.
Summary of Role
The Manager (Partnerships – Community) plays a critical role in fostering a gracious society by building and nurturing strategic alliances with community partners across the Public, Private, and People (3P) sectors. By identifying collaboration opportunities and negotiating win-win agreements, the Manager leverages collective strengths to achieve the Singapore Kindness Movement’s (SKM) shared objectives.
Additionally, this role provides vital operational support to the wider SKM Partnerships team, ensuring all sectoral programmes are executed efficiently, transparently, and expeditiously.

Department: Programmes & Partnerships Team
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership & Relationship Management
- Drive Kindness Advocacy: Educate, motivate, and inspire partners within the 3P network and the broader community to become active advocates for kindness.
- Alliance Building: Identify, develop, and manage strategic relationships with community stakeholders, negotiating mutually beneficial agreements that support long-term collaboration.
- Stakeholder Alignment & Sponsorship: Work closely with partners to ensure all co-created initiatives align with SKM’s core messaging, while proactively seeking corporate or community sponsorships where applicable.
End-to-End Event & Programme Management
- Flagship Recognition Programmes: Lead the end-to-end planning, budget management, and execution of major community-related events, including the Singapore Friendly Neighbourhood Award and the Service Gold Award.
- Annual Campaigns: Conceptualise, plan, and execute annual Kindness Day SG programmes tailored for community partners.
- Operational Agility: Provide hands-on event management and execution support for broader SKM events and cross-functional initiatives as required.
Innovation & Governance
- Engagement Ideation: Continually conceptualise fresh, creative, and impactful ideas to deepen partner engagement and maximize community outreach.
- Financial Stewardship: Exercise robust procurement practices and uphold good governance across all allocated budgets, programmes, and events.
Requirements
Technical & Functional
- Understanding of partnerships, stakeholder engagement, or community programmes
- Ability to execute event planning and coordination
- Comfortable with administrative processes, documentation, and follow-through
- Familiarity with budgeting, procurement, or vendor coordination is an advantage
Soft Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Collaborative team player with a service-oriented mindset
- Willingness to learn and grow into higher responsibilities
Experience & Background (Flexible)
- Relevant experience in partnerships, community engagement, events, public sector, non-profit preferred but not mandatory.
