Meat Specialist
Drive sales and profitability by managing merchandising, product range, and shrinkage while supervising skilled cutters and ensuring adherence to meat product standards and safety.
Responsibilities
- Manage visual merchandising to enhance product appeal and drive sales growth
- Oversee product range selection to meet customer demand and maximize profitability
- Monitor and control shrinkage to reduce losses and improve inventory accuracy
- Apply detailed knowledge of meat products, processing methods, and service standards to maintain quality
- Supervise and mentor skilled cutters to ensure efficient and accurate meat preparation
- Read and interpret product labels to comply with safety and quality standards
- Follow food safety protocols to maintain a hygienic and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service and support
- Perform physical tasks such as carrying stock up to 10kg and climbing ladders for replenishment
- Work reliably on a 6-day work week with rotating shifts
Required competencies and certifications
- Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and food safety
- Ability to read product labels and follow safety standards
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (candidates with less experience may be considered)
