About the role
Job SummaryThe Sr. Machinery Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical systems. This role performs complex diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs, ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
This job profile is intended for experienced support-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations.
This job and its associated grade are specifically aligned with roles that have the following scope of responsibility: Small, Medium, Large, Division / Extra Large organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and document findings.
Replace or fabricate parts as needed.
Maintain tools and ensure safe working conditions.
Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime.
Train and support junior mechanics.
Follow safety and operational procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
Typically requires vocational training (or equivalent experience) and several years of relevant work experience to carry out the role.
Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
Experience with industrial machinery and tools.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
Knowledge of safety regulations and maintenance procedures.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
