The Storage Administrator – Senior Associate is responsible for advanced support and continuous improvement of outsourced storage services across file, block, and object platforms. This includes leading complex file share and quota/ACL designs, planning and executing data migrations and cutovers, designing and implementing SAN LUN/zoning/masking and replication configurations, and provisioning S3/object storage in accordance with best practices. The role serves as a technical escalation point for storage incidents and changes, mentors junior team members, and partners with architects, vendors, and service owners to ensure stable, resilient, and cost-effective storage services.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead design and lifecycle management of enterprise file shares, quotas, and ACLs.

  • Plan and execute storage migrations and cutovers across file, block, and object platforms.

  • Design and implement SAN LUN layouts, zoning/masking, and replication configurations.

  • Provision and manage S3/object storage, including lifecycle, security, and cost controls.

  • Act as escalation point for major storage incidents and drive root cause analysis.

  • Plan and coordinate storage upgrades and maintenance with minimal business impact.

  • Identify automation opportunities and mentor junior team members on standards and runbooks.

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelors

Degree Preferred: Bachelor’s or Masters in science, Computer Science, Engineering

Minimum Years of Experience: 4-7 year(s)

Certifications Required: None

Certifications Preferred:

  • ITIL® Foundation or higher-level ITIL certification.

  • Intermediate/advanced vendor storage certifications (e.g., Dell EMC Specialist/Expert, Pure Storage, NetApp, or equivalent).

  • Cloud certifications with focus on operations and storage (e.g., AWS SysOps Administrator, AWS Storage Specialty, Azure Administrator/Architect).

  • VMware VCP or equivalent where storage integrates heavily with virtualized environments.

  • 4–7 years in enterprise storage administration or infrastructure operations.

  • Strong expertise with file services, including complex share structures, ACLs, and quotas.

  • Solid experience with SAN/block design, RAID, tiering, multipathing, zoning, and masking.

  • Hands-on experience with storage migrations, replication, and DR for critical workloads.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex performance and stability issues across hosts, fabric, and arrays.

  • Proficiency with scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for provisioning and reporting.

  • Practical experience operating within ITIL-aligned incident, change, problem, and capacity processes.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including vendor coordination.
