Required / Mandatory Knowledge/Skills: (character count limit 5000) *PLEASE ONLY USE THIS FIELD IF THIS IS A MUST HAVE SKILL FOR APPLICANT*

1. Advanced Cloud Engineering & Architecture Support

  • Design and build scalable AWS infrastructure using best practices for compute, network, storage, and identity.

  • Implement advanced VPC architectures including transit gateways, hybrid connectivity, private link integrations, and multi-account security patterns.

  • Own environment hardening — IAM baselines, trusted access, key rotation, secrets management, OS/VM hardening.

  • Implement and tune autoscaling, caching (Redis/ElastiCache), load balancers, and distributed system patterns.

2. DevOps Engineering & Platform Automation

  • Architect end-to-end CI/CD pipelines with automated tests, security scans, artifact reuse, environment promotion, and canary/blue-green deployments.

  • Build advanced IaC modules (Terraform/CloudFormation) with reusable patterns, modules, and guardrails.

  • Implement GitOps workflows using ArgoCD/Flux (if in use).

  • Automate cloud operations using Python, PowerShell, or Shell — reducing manual tasks by 50–70%.

3. Kubernetes & Container Platform Ownership

  • Manage EKS clusters — node groups, cluster upgrades, CNI networking, RBAC, PSP/SCC equivalents, pod security, and logging integrations.

  • Implement traffic routing strategies — ingress, service meshes, sidecar proxies.

  • Troubleshoot container performance: CPU throttling, OOM kills, DNS issues, scaling patterns.

4. Observability, Reliability, and Operational Excellence

  • Own dashboards covering SI/SLI/SLO metrics across availability, latency, failure rate, system saturation, and error budgets.

  • Optimize monitoring thresholds, reduce alert noise, and define actionable health checks.

  • Lead L3 incident response, post-incident analysis, and recurring failure elimination.

  • Conduct capacity planning and chargeback modeling based on resource growth.

5. Security & Compliance

  • Integrate AWS services with enterprise security tooling (GuardDuty, Inspector, CloudTrail, KMS, WAF).

  • Conduct cloud vulnerability remediations, certificate renewals, and encryption compliance.

  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines enforce code quality, dependency scanning, and secrets management.

6. ITSM Responsibilities (Elevated Expectations)

  • Own end-to-end change design, documentation, and peer reviews for major deployments.

  • Lead RCAs and present findings to leadership.

  • Enforce SLAs/KPIs for platform availability, deployment frequency, change success rate, and incident turnaround.

  • Maintain and continuously enhance runbooks, architectural diagrams, and automation playbooks.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as SME to Developers, Data Teams, Security, and Infrastructure.

  • Mentor Associates on cloud engineering, pipelines, automation, and troubleshooting.

  • Participate in roadmap planning, architecture discussions, and environment modernization.
