Network Engineer L1/ L2 (Banking Project) @ The East
About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Network Engineer (Level 1 Support) to join our Infrastructure Operations team. This role supports the bank’s enterprise network infrastructure and ensures continuous connectivity for critical banking systems.
The position is shift-based (24x7 operations) and requires flexibility to work odd hours, nights, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating support schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 network monitoring and operational support for enterprise network systems
- Monitor network alerts and dashboards (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi) and perform initial triage
- Perform basic troubleshooting for: Network connectivity issues VPN access issues Switch / port / link failures
- Escalate incidents to Level 2/3 engineers or vendors based on severity
- Assist in incident logging, tracking, and updating tickets in ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network incident handling
- Support scheduled maintenance activities during non-business hours
- Ensure adherence to banking IT security and compliance policies
- Maintain clear documentation of incidents and resolution steps
Requirements
- Min ITE in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or related field
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification is required or in progress
- Strong interest in network operations and troubleshooting
- Willingness to work in 24x7 shift environment
