Network Infrastructure Specialist
Summary:
Design, implement, and support network infrastructure solutions (LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, VNET) to ensure high availability, performance, and security. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, optimise, and document network systems. Manage network security protocols, vendor relations, and proactive monitoring.
Requirements:
- Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, VNET).
- Monitor network performance, diagnose issues, and perform health checks.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, segmentation).
- Integrate network security tools such as AD, MFA, Clearpass, ESXi, PMP, PIM, PAM, ELA, SIEM, SEM, SEP, SCOM.
- Optimise network traffic and capacity planning.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Liaise with vendors for support, maintenance, and procurement.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in network infrastructure design, implementation, and administration.
- Experience with enterprise-level networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless access points).
- Proficiency in networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, MPLS, QoS).
- Preferred certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG).
- Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.
- Experience with SD-WAN, VPN technologies, and data centre operations (VMware NSX, Hyper-V, ESXi).
- Scripting/automation skills (Python, Ansible) are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
