Occupational Therapist

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior/Occupational Therapist in Skool4Kidz, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team in the Early Intervention Department which provides services to children requiring early intervention support. You will support our preschool children through assessment and intervention. You will work in partnership with our Learning Support Educators (LSEds), preschool teachers, parents/caregivers/families and other relevant professionals/stakeholders.

A KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct assessment to identify the child’s developmental needs.
  • Administer, scores and interpret specialized occupational therapy assessments.
  • Conceptualise intervention goals and plans to support child’s developmental needs.
  • Report assessment and intervention outcomes in Individualised Educational Plan (IEP) and End-of-intervention (EOI) reports.
  • Develop, implement and monitor appropriate and individualized intervention strategies.
  • Guide and support Learning Support Educators (LSEds) and preschool teachers to use personalised intervention strategies to support child.
  • Provide guidance to parents/caregivers on use of personalised strategies to support child.
  • Train or co-train Learning Support Educators, preschool teachers, parents/caregivers on specific occupational therapy strategies/techniques.
  • Provide training to preschool teachers, parents and caregivers.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (e.g. number of children identified for early intervention, achievement of IEP goals, evaluation, etc).
  • Drive the organisation’s inclusive practices and early intervention support.
  • Participate in research/quality improvement projects.
  • To undertake and perform any other executive work assigned by management.

Requirements:

· Degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC).

· Full registration with AHPC

· Preferably member of Singapore Association of Occupational Therapy (SAOT) or equivalent

· At least 2 years of paediatric experience, preferably with prior experience in DSLS programme

· Experience in assessment and working with preschool children (e.g. DSLS programme) or children with developmental disabilities (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities) preferred.

· Have excellent spoken and written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
