Physician - Cardiac Electrophysiologist

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within 4 months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. This position is located at GV (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical, Jackson, MS in the Specialty Care Service Line. Major Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to: The incumbent performs electrophysiology consultations, interprets ECG and ambulatory rhythm monitoring. provides longitudinal arrhythmia and general cardiology follow-up, including medication management and coordination of care with referring and primary care providers Major procedural duties include diagnostic electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, and implantation and follow-up management of cardiac implantable electronic devices (pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices), including device programming and remote monitoring. Participates in cardiology inpatient consult service and call coverage as assigned; utilizes telehealth modalities to enhance Veteran access to electrophysiology care; and serves as a core member of the multidisciplinary cardiovascular team, promoting safe, patient-centered, evidence-based practice. Additional responsibilities include patient and family education, timely and accurate electronic medical record documentation, participation in quality improvement and patient safety activities, teaching and supervision of trainees as assigned, and maintenance of required board certification, licensure, and continuing medical education in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
