This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Work in a team setting to perform duties to accomplish the treatment of our patients. Incumbent participates in quality assurance programs and chart reviews. Duties: Provide expertise and support the various functions of Non-Invasive Cardiology and patient care. Provide comprehensive cardiac services, echocardiography, stress echocardiograms, TEE and diagnostic cardiac catheterizations. Consult and treat Veterans while also performing stress test procedures (nuclear, chemical and routine treadmill) and echocardiography readings, Holter monitor, and EKG interpretations. Provides education and counseling of Veterans and families in preventive care, medical conditions, and use of prescribed treatments and drugs. Establish professional working relationships with clinical service providers within the medical center, Outpatient Clinics (OPCs), and the Community Base Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), providing telephone and curbside consultation as needed and screening consults that are received for appropriateness prior to scheduling. Staff Cardiologists are ultimately responsible for the oversight of all aspects of cardiac medical care delivered to patients under their care. Participate in Cardiology and general medical staff meetings, committee, assignments, compliance and other components of an organized medical staff provider. Responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient care. Supports Academic Affiliations pertinent to Cardiology. Will provide residency and medical student teaching. Must be willing to be on call and work weekends and irregular hours. Research is not required. Research is encouraged by the Veteran Affairs and supported as feasible to allow the opportunity for study design, data collection, analysis, publication, and other aspects of research. other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
