Physician- Chief of Psychiatry

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Provide supervision of Psychiatrists, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners under Psychiatry Service. Complete psychiatry evaluation, write psychiatry note and suicide risk assessments within inpatient and outpatient settings. Review incoming email/mail. Respond to emails, sign memos, key requests, review daily calendar for meetings, meet with staff as needed. Participate in on-call rotation and/or provide back up for on-call Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Collaborating physician for NPs and PAs. Attend meetings and committee appointments as the Service Chief. Member of the Multidisciplinary Mental Health Leadership Team. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00-4:30pm with on-call rotation.
