Physician - Primary Care

This position is located in the Primary Care Service, at the Eastern Colorado Health Care System. This position provides support to the primary care of Veterans and their significant others within the ECHCS catchment area and education of residents of affiliated medical schools.

Start, continue, or finish your career here | VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System Clinical: 100%The staff physician practices in the outpatient clinic setting at the expert level, The staff physician is academically and clinically prepared to be responsible for managing the full spectrum of primary care. Primary care at ECHCS includes, but is not limited to, assessment, diagnosis treatment, and monitoring outcome measures of healthcare problems of patients presenting with internal medicine concerns. A nonexclusive list includes the following: Performing histories and physicals x Initiating and adjusting therapeutic regimens Ordering medications/supplies in accordance with VA policy and the VA formulary Providing appropriate follow up care Triage of patients with non-medicine complaints, diseases, and injuries to appropriate disciplines for diagnosis and treatment Physicians have been granted clinical privileges by the Medical Staff. The physician will work in a team setting with other physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support staff assigned to perform duties to accomplish the treatment of ECHCS Veterans. Computer skills are essential as ECHCS is fully computerized for note documentation, entering orders, and requesting consults. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
