Physician (Radiology)

About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Remote telework may be authorized.

Interpret full range of general diagnostic imaging modality exams to include MRI, CT, Ultrasound, plain film, fluoroscopy, mammography and nuclear scintigraphy.

Evaluate imaging test results for the purposes of diagnosis, patient care, research and education.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team consisting of direct and indirect patient care professionals to include diagnostic imaging staff, x-ray technicians, laboratory staff, and referring clinical team and providers.

Consult with the requesting clinical provider before a procedure is done, deciding on the procedure and ensuring the minimization of the invasion of the patient.

Direct supporting employees during the performance of scheduled or emergency care procedures to include biopsies and abscess drainages.

Assist with formulation of plans and procedures for assigned services; coordinate radiological services with other medical activities.

Participate in independent, remote/off-site teleradiology call schedule overnights and weekends.
