Physician - Urology
VA Black Hills is seeking a Full-Time Urologist. The Urologist is aligned within the Surgical Care ICC in inpatient and outpatient settings at the VA Blacks Hills Medical Center. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.

The incumbent is responsible to perform basic urologic procedures, such as cystoscopy, ultrasound guided prostate biopsy, transurethral resections, bladder biopsy, ureteral stent insertion, retrogrades, and orchiectomy. Clinic duties consist of evaluating and treating patients with urologic disorders. Major Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for seeing patients in consultation in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responds to patient telephone calls, informing patients of test/lab results, renewing medication prescriptions, giving telephone or e-mail advice to other providers, and administrative duties, if any. Enters accurate, complete, timely progress notes for each episode of care in the patient's electronic record. This is accomplished by utilizing the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS). Responsible for the proper use, maintenance, and calibration of specialized equipment used in the assessment and care of patients. Adheres to safety, health, and infection control standards, regulations and work practices, as well as ergonomic standards. He/she reports any unsafe conditions to supervisor and/or appropriate officials. Assists in orientation of new staff and provides patient and family education, including informed consent. Maintains supplies, equipment and clinical areas to optimize safety and efficiency. Demonstrates knowledge and maintains standards in the use and reprocessing of Reusable Medical Equipment (RME). Participates in performance improvement activities, disaster preparedness, administrative duties, and other responsibilities assigned by the Chief of Surgical/Specialty Care Service Line.
