Presales Engineer
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Design & Architecture
- Design integrated physical security solutions including IP Video Surveillance (CCTV), Access Control Systems (ACS), Intrusion Detection, and Intercom systems.
- Design network architectures ensuring smooth IoT/edge device deployment, reliable communication protocols, and bandwidth optimization.
- Ensure all physical security designs comply with corporate IT cybersecurity standards, including firewall configurations, encryption, and endpoint security.
2. Pre-Sales & Bidding
- Lead technical discussions, architectural whiteboarding, and product demonstrations for prospective clients.
- Conduct site surveys to evaluate physical deployment conditions and gather detailed client requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM), technical proposals, compliance matrices, and cost estimations for tenders.
3. Proof of Concepts (POC) & Vendor Management
- Execute Proof of Concepts (POCs) and pilot projects to validate solution feasibility and performance.
- Evaluate, recommend, and manage relationships with third-party hardware and software vendors.
4. Handover & Project Support
- Conduct detailed technical handovers to the post-sales implementation and project delivery teams to ensure smooth rollout.
- Provide tier-3 technical escalation support during complex installations.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
1. Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, systems engineering, or solution architecture, specifically within physical security (ELV) or IT networks.
3. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with electronic security platforms (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, Hikvision, Dahua, Gallagher or similar).
- Strong IT infrastructure and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, server virtualization, and database management.
4. Soft Skills:
- Exceptional client-facing communication, presentation, and proposal-writing skills.
5. Certifications:
- Relevant industry certifications are highly advantageous (e.g., CISSP, CCNA, or vendor-specific security/networking certifications)
