As a Lead Engineer at Honeywell, you will work closely with one of our key customers, providing technical leadership for the team and partnering with the Program Manager to support successful delivery across the full lifecycle. You will be responsible for engineering planning and resource coordination, ensuring deliveries meet technical requirements, quality standards, and schedule commitments. This role requires close collaboration with the customer to understand their needs and deliver innovative, high-quality solutions. In this role, you will work together with our Cross-Business Unit and Line of Business teams to deliver services and solutions that support our customers’ evolving business needs. Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will be based in Asker with a hybrid work schedule. Please note that the role requires approximately 25% travel to support customer and project needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong engineering judgment with practical leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a customer-facing environment. You should be comfortable balancing technical quality, team coordination, and delivery priorities while supporting successful outcomes for both the customer and the business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the engineering scope across all lifecycle phases, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, applicable standards, and Honeywell’s quality expectations.

  • Provide technical leadership and day-to-day guidance to engineers working on automation, control, and system integration activities
  • Own engineering planning, workload coordination, and technical prioritization to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Ensure alignment with the Field Operation Manager
  • Coordinate across customer projects and program priorities to ensure effective resource planning and avoid conflicts in workload and delivery
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, internal processes, and relevant industry standards
  • Act as the primary technical interface with the customer, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and drive decisions. Support design reviews, risk assessments, change management, and root-cause analysis throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate commissioning, testing, and start-up support activities, including technical troubleshooting when required. Contribute to continuous improvement by standardizing engineering practices, sharing lessons learned, and mentoring less experienced engineers

Must Have Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Cybernetics, Control Systems, or a related engineering discipline
  • Experience in engineering experience, including experience in a senior or lead engineering role
  • Strong technical understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and system lifecycle delivery in complex industrial environments.
  • Proven experience coordinating engineering activities, reviewing technical deliverables, and leading multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Experience working directly with customers and building trusted relationships in a project or service environment
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Professional working proficiency in Norwegian.
  • A structured, proactive, and solution-oriented approach with a strong focus on safety, quality, and delivery

Good to have

  • Experience from the energy, process, offshore, or other highly regulated industrial sectors. Knowledge of EPCI or similar delivery models
  • Familiarity with applicable industry standards and practices, such as NORSOK, IEC, functional safety, and cyber security for industrial control systems
