Job Description:

Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Assurance team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our mission of delivering innovative specialty chemical solutions to customers worldwide.

The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for the adherence of processes and procedures to the Gelest Quality System by gathering and reviewing data and handling special projects. In addition, the Quality Assurance Technician will work closely with multiple departments within Gelest to aid in continuous improvement projects.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Aid in the development of continuous improvement activities.

  • Maintain ISO compliance for certification as well as interpreting standards and apply them to the quality system.

  • Assist in the development and execution of continuous improvement projects.

  • Perform statistical and mathematical data collection related to continuous improvement projects.

  • Support ERP maintenance.

  • Assist in the investigation of out-of-specification batches.

  • Write Quality Documents and support testing related to customer feedback.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Experiences:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering discipline preferred.

  • Training in Quality Management, Production processes, data collection and/or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, organize, and implement work activities.

  • Ability to write reports, conduct audits and author material safety data sheets.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Pass respirator fit test as required by OSHA

  • This is a hybrid position. Successful candidates should expect to be onsite 3 days per week, or more as necessary to support the needs of the business.

Additional Company Information

  • The salary range for this position is $24-$34 per hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
