Quality Control Manager
The Role
Weatherford is seeking an experienced QC Manager to lead our quality control function at our manufacturing facility in Gujarat, India. This role is responsible for driving quality performance through strong leadership, ensuring compliance with API standards, and delivering continuous improvement across QC processes.
You will lead and develop QC teams, manage functional KPIs, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve product quality and operational efficiency. This is a leadership-focused role with accountability for the effectiveness and performance of the QC function, not hands-on inspection.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the QC function, including supervisors, engineers, and inspectors
- Drive functional KPIs including NCR closure, rejection reduction, and audit performance
- Own and implement RCA, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with API Q1 and applicable industry standards
- Develop and standardize QC processes, work instructions, and inspection strategies
- Oversee inspection planning and execution across all manufacturing stages
- Manage third-party inspections and customer quality requirements
- Ensure calibration, traceability, and compliance of all inspection and measurement systems
- Partner with operations and engineering to resolve quality issues and improve processes
- Lead audits (internal, external, and customer) and ensure timely closure of findings
- Build team capability through training, performance management, and appraisals
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years in quality control roles within manufacturing environments
- At least 5 years of people management experience leading QC teams
- Experience working in an API-regulated manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of quality control principles, inspection methods, and machining processes
- Proven track record in RCA, CAPA, and process improvement
- Experience managing QC KPIs, audits, and quality systems
- Ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in Gujarat and operate in a plant-based environment
