Quality Manager - Plant D

JOB SUMMARY & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a quality plan to bring the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality system requirements. Communicates and works closely to build effective relationships with engineering and operations management. Provide presentations to Plant Manager and one higher level. Cross into other functional areas to obtain required information and support to complete assignments.

  • Represent the voice of the customer in the plant.
  • Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
  • Formulate and manage the development and implementation of annual goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems pertaining to the QA/QC.
  • Analyze and report warranty, start-up, and other field data to provide direction for process/product quality improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with the ISO9000 standard or other Quality Standard.
  • Drive internal audit program to catalyze continual improvement.
  • Implement Associate involvement programs.
  • Lead new product development opportunities and product transfers.
  • Directs, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products.
  • Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
  • Liaising with customers’ auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.
  • Daily supervision of receiving inspection, calibration and documentation.
  • Develop and implement effective audit process to drive continual improvement.
  • Provide field performance analysis to drive product/process quality improvement.
  • Quarterly reports to Corporate and Lead management review meetings.
  • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications: (education, experience level, knowledge, skills, designations/certifications).

  • A four-year degree in Engineering or a related field of study plus a minimum
  • 8 + experience on Quality Control & Assurance area.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required (read, write and speak).
  • Familiar with Assembly and Manufacturing processes, Engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work in a large, global corporate structure
  • Self-starter. Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellence.
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office Software – advanced Excel skills required.
  • Desirable experience using MRP or Enterprise systems in Manufacturing.
  • Familiar with electrical schematic a plus
  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement methodologies and related statistical tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of formal Quality System standards such as the ISO 9000 series of requirements.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certification in Quality Engineering is preferred.
  • Six Sigma certified desirable
