Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

We are looking for a competent and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to support our contracts and commercial team across active construction projects. The successful candidate will manage the full spectrum of subcontract procurement, cost monitoring, and contract administration duties, while maintaining close coordination with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure robust commercial delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for subcontract packages to support the tendering process, including identification and sourcing of suitable subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Conduct contract negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, and prepare formal subcontract agreements upon award.

  • Assist with tender submissions and project execution activities as required by the commercial team.

  • Monitor and control project costs on an ongoing basis, ensuring all works are executed in accordance with contract specifications and approved drawings.

  • Evaluate, negotiate, and agree on revisions, changes, and additions to subcontract agreements arising from scope changes or site conditions.

  • Prepare and issue subcontractor payment certificates in line with contractual terms and project cashflow requirements.

  • Prepare variation orders and reconcile all variations with the client's quantity surveying team in accordance with the terms of the main contract.

  • Review design changes in coordination with the design team and assess the commercial impact of potential variation claims to the client.

  • Prepare and submit monthly progress claims to the client, and assist in the preparation of cashflow forecasts for client submission.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 3 years' local working experience in civil and building construction projects.

  • A collaborative team player with strong initiative and a positive, can-do work attitude.

  • Able to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Experience on LTA projects (e.g., MRT, LRT, road, tunnel, underground infrastructure, or bus interchange) is strongly preferred.

  • Mandarin proficiency required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking subcontractors/client representatives and review project correspondence.
