Quantity Surveyor (M&E)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and Bills of Quantities (BQ) for Mechanical & Electrical works.
  • Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for M&E services.
  • Prepare tender submissions and recommend subcontractors based on technical and commercial evaluations.
  • Administer subcontracts, including preparation of award documents and variation orders.
  • Monitor project costs, budget control, and cash flow to ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractors' progress claims and final accounts.
  • Prepare and negotiate variation claims with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Attend project meetings and coordinate with project teams, consultants, and M&E subcontractors on commercial matters.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and management reports.
  • Ensure timely settlement of contractual claims and final accounts.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Contracts Manager or Management.

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant quantity surveying experience in M&E works for commercial, residential, institutional, or industrial building projects in Singapore.
  • Familiar with local construction contracts, including SIA and PSSCOC forms of contract.
  • Good knowledge of M&E systems and services.
  • Experience in tendering, cost estimation, variation claims, and final accounts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and quantity surveying software.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in A1 main contractor environment will be an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with BIM and CAD drawings.
  • Knowledge of BCA regulations and Singapore construction practices.
