RECREATION SPECIALIST FITNESS PROGRAM MANAGER
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 47th FSS Losano Fitness Center, located at Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas.. This position is considered Regular Full Time RFT. Guaranteed 35 hours a week with potential to a maximum of 40 hours per week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. RFT employees are eligible to earn annual and sick leave as well as benefits including Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and Retirement.
Serves as the installation/unit subject matter expert on physical fitness and wellness. Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive fitness programs that enhance readiness, resilience, and overall health of assigned personnel incorporating exercise science, physical fitness, Physical Fitness Readiness Assessment (PFRA), strength and conditioning, reconditioning, and adaptive physical fitness. Serves as a role model of physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Delivers briefings and workshops on fitness, nutrition basics, and lifestyle habits that support long-term health and mission readiness. Serves as the Fitness Information Manager (FIM) and Fitness Assessment Cell Manager (FAC). Advises commanders, supervisors, and individuals on fitness strategies, program effectiveness, and ways to improve participation outcomes. Develops, analyzes, and reports on installation/wing physical fitness program data. Market, advertise, promote, and coordinate programs. Trains PFRA administrators, Unit Fitness Assessment Cell (UFAC), Unit Fitness Program Managers (UFPM), and additional myFitness roles as needed. Maintains accurate records, schedules, and reports related to fitness programming and participation engagement. In absence of management, oversees Aerobics Instructors, Lifeguards, other Fitness Program Staff. Assists in maintaining pool and pool area in accordance with guidelines and regulations. Serves as the primary point of contact, with assistance from the FSS Director of Operations, for the physical fitness program MICT to include inspecting the unit physical fitness programs and conducting SAVs; additionally, conducts inspections on UFACs performing internal PFRAs annually. Ensure proper use and accountability of fitness equipment; coordinate with fitness center staff as needed. Coordinate with Health Promotion, Medical, and Fitness Center staff to integrate wellness initiatives and ensure a holistic approach to fitness.
