RESIDENT TECHNICAL OFFICER (Archi)
Job Description:
- Supervise and ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with contract documents, including drawings, specifications, approved shop drawings, method statements, and relevant standards.
- Verify that all construction materials and suppliers comply with the approved list or have obtained necessary approval from the relevant consultants.
- Conduct random sampling of materials for testing in accordance with specified requirements or consultant instructions, and coordinate testing with approved laboratories as required.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials on-site to prevent damage or deterioration.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure all ongoing works comply with required quality standards.
- Ensure that all identified defects are promptly and satisfactorily rectified by the contractor.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive site records, including records of work progress, variation works, and loss and expense claims.
- Assist the Consultant (Architect/Project Manager) in verifying contractors’ monthly progress claims.
- Monitor and report on the status and completion of variation works.
- Assist the Consultant (Architect/Project Manager) in tracking and managing variation order requests to ensure timely approvals.
- Monitor project progress against the approved construction programme and promptly notify the Consultant of any delays or deviations.
- Liaise and coordinate with subcontractors and relevant parties to ensure timely completion of works.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized Polytechnic or equivalent institution.
- Must be registered with IES as a C&S Resident Technical Officer (RTO) with a valid certificate.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in site supervision, preferably with HDB HIP, HDB BTO or Buildings A&A projects.
