Senior BIM Technician - Structures

WSP India is currently seeking a Senior BIM Technician to join our REVIT Structures team located at our Bengaluru office. This role is to work as part of WSP GCC Sweden as part of BIM team and take a role in the production of detailed structural drawings in REVIT Structures through 3D rebar modelling/detailing, Point cloud or Scan to BIM and with AutoCAD Knowledge.

• Lead the preparation of Engineering Drawings using WSP CAD/ BIM Standards and Templates.

• Agree priorities & deadlines with Sweden Team, organize work to ensure timely delivery.

• Align work with Quality requirements and maintain Document Control for all work.

• Proactively raising queries, identifying necessary inputs from others & following up.

• Develop templates and libraries for CAD / BIM work.

• Role will be working under the supervision of Principal Engineer or Principal BIM Modeler.

• Prepare structural detailed and concept design drawings for various structures/buildings and construction types to be built predominantly in Sweden.

• Responsible for BIM and CAD standards, implementation, and enforcement

• Creation and maintenance of the software template files to assure standards

• Automate routines to support standards and productivity

• Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all drawings produced

• Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards

• Maximizing utilization on projects

• Create Dynamo techniques/Auto Connections and automated parameters in response to project requirements

• Agree priorities and deadlines for drawing production through liaison with the Project Engineer and Sweden team

• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.

• Should be having a good experience in 3D Reinforcement Revit structures modelling and specifications/Bar bending schedules.

• Good working knowledge of Revit Structures with latest versions, able to use all standard functions on the software without requiring support from seniors and coach junior staff in its use.

• Setting up of Automation/Dynamo activities wherever needed and possible to do so.

• Setting up BIM models to the project standards and liaising with Model Managers from client side.

Mandatory Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering

• Experience of having worked in a similar role and Structural Industry.

• Knowledge of working in REVIT Structures environment inclusive of Steel/Precast/Point cloud/ Cast in situ working models would be a preference.

• Assisting CAD/BIM Manager in Estimation and Costing of CAD/BIM projects based on client's inputs and to Prepare sketches / RFIs etc. as necessary for seeking clarification from Engineers in Sweden

• Good understanding of working for international codes and industry standards

Desired Skills

• Competence in REVIT Structures – 3D Reinforcement Modelling and Rebar detailing/Point cloud or Scan to BIM activities/AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in CAD with 10+ years of relevant experience.

• It is desirable that the candidate has obtained professional registration such as EngTech with ICE, UK or close to attaining the same.
