Senior Engineer - Hydrology
This role is to work as part of a team to support the delivery of projects. This role will be working under the supervision of Associate or principal engineer to carry out the following functions.
- This role is for a Senior Engineer – Hydrology to contribute to growing hydrology.
- Lead and support hydrological and hydraulic modelling tasks using tools such as Info works ICM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SewerGEMS, and QGIS, flow master, culvert design software.
- Assist in the preparation and review of stormwater management reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and cross-disciplinary groups including CAD, Road, landscape, Geotech, environment etc teams to ensure seamless project integration.
- Coordinate with CAD teams to develop and review stormwater drawings and ensure alignment with modelling outputs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in model development, calibration, and report writing.
- Contribute to the delivery of project packages alongside Principals and Associates, ensuring timely and quality outcomes.
- Basic knowledge of Civil 3D and BIM to support design integration and visualization.
- Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and project planning sessions as required.
- Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline. Ensure weekly submission of timesheets. Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
- Support the companies approach to sustainability.
- Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP ME service to clients.
Key Competencies / Skills:
Mandatory skills
- Strong understanding of stormwater systems, hydrological processes, and drainage design
- Familiarity with local and international stormwater design standards.
- Awareness about GCC standards and manuals.
- Computer literate, with experience of appropriate modelling software or equivalent Excel spreadsheet calculations.
- Good English communication skills are essential.
- Middle East or UK as projects dictate.

Desired Skills
- Previous project experience in any GCC countries, including coordinating with local government agencies for design approvals (NOCs), will also be preferred.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, Water Resources, or a related field.
