Senior Engineer - Water Quality
We At WSP, we're continuing to grow and develop our expertise in Earth and Environment, operating as a trusted advisor and technical expert on engineering design challenges for our clients across multiple industries. Our team is growing, and as a result we're adding a Senior Water Quality Modeller to our group. As part of the team in Prairies and North, you'll be responsible for driving forward our ambitious plans to enhance our Earth and Environment service offering through collaboration with a large team of scientists and engineers.
You’ll be working on various projects in the natural resource sector with a focus on water quality and other environmental data screening, data management and statistical analysis
You’ll support project teams with preparing written and graphical material for reports and presentations
You’ll collaborate with teams across the company, including aquatics, toxicology, geochemistry, and hydrology.
Software experience in GoldSim, Cormix, MIKE3D, CE-QUAL-W2
You’ll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to complete environmental impact assessments and monitoring programs
A university degree (preferably MSc or PhD in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Science or relevant discipline)
Minimum 5 years of experience in water quality modelling using GoldSim, Cormix, Mike3D softwares.
Successful project delivery record in the Mining, Oil & Gas sectors, especially towards Closure Plans.
Experience using data management software such as PowerBI
Experience with computer programming in Python/R/Matlab, and Excel VBA is a necessity.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and work independently.
