Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Regulatory Manager – Upstream to lead regulatory strategy and client advisory support for complex environmental remediation and reclamation projects.
This role will play a key part in shaping regulatory engagement, managing risk, and supporting long-term site closure and reclamation strategies. The position offers a blend of technical leadership, client-facing work, and contribution to business growth.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Serve as a regulatory lead for environmental remediation and reclamation projects at upstream oil and gas sites
- Advise clients on permitting, compliance strategy, and regulatory risk
- Lead regulatory reviews, audits, corrective action programs, and closure planning
- Interface directly with regulatory agencies at the county, state, and federal level
- Monitor regulatory trends and support proactive client strategy
- Support proposals, client development, and strategic growth initiatives
- Mentor and support development of technical staff
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
- State-level environmental regulations (California experience preferred)
- Federal regulatory frameworks such as CERCLA, RCRA, and Clean Water Act
- Pipeline and/or oil well-related permitting and reclamation
- Coordination with agencies such as CalGEM, EPA, SWRCB, RWQCB, BLM, or comparable regulatory bodies
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field
- 12+ years of regulatory experience related to legacy or active mine sites
- Experience supporting remediation, reclamation, and enforcement negotiations
- Strong understanding of permitting, compliance, and regulatory strategy
- Excellent technical writing and executive communication skills
- Willingness to travel

Salary Range: $94,000-$156, 000 based on location and experience
