Senior/Residential Care Assistant (Sunbeam Place)
General Duties
- Provide supervision, caregiving for their physical and psychological needs and guidance for the children and young persons (CYPs).
- Ensure residents attend school regularly.
- Adopting the Trauma–Informed care approach by rewarding and encouraging the residents to display good behaviour.
- Ensuring residents’ needs are taken care of.
- Daily tasks may include cooking, cleaning, organising appointments, activities, homework and supporting them in general well-being.
- Any other admin tasks assigned by Reporting Officer.
Resident Management (Quality care and Supervision)
- Develop a trusting and respectful relationship with CYPs
- Monitor the residents to ensure that they are present in SBP or the activity that is being supervised (or their whereabouts to be made known when they are not at the Home).
- Ensure that they follow and adhere to the structure in SBP.
- Monitor the residents to ensure that they are physically safe and do not partake in any risky behaviour or activities which may cause themselves or others physical injury – especially during playtime.
- Monitor & report on any complaints received from residents, family members, volunteers, or visitors to the Home.
- Monitor & report of any incidents or signs or suspicions of physical, sexual or emotional abuse or self-harm.
- Teach and enforce behavioural expectations; flag up to relevant staff of any behavioural concerns and issues.
Promote social & emotional development for the residents
- Support Anchor Care Staff in implementing activities and Home in Home activities. Inject teachable moments and imparting of values in these activities.
- Encourage and reward positive behaviours, address unacceptable behaviour promptly and with needed documentation.
Ensure Smooth Running of the Home
- Responsible to maintain safe gate management procedures.
- Responsible to maintain and upkeep of the physical environment in the assigned dorm.
- Responsible in updating home leave / visit procedures through the Home Management System (HMS).
- Responsible to report any damages of property to the operations team.
Requirements
- O/A level’s or ITE certificate
- No working experience is required, although relevant volunteering and work experiences is an advantage. Fresh graduates may be considered.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Possess high level of initiative, independence and adaptability.
- High levels of accountability and adaptability
- Able to work shift hours, including night shifts.
