We are a retail store with outlets at the National University of Singapore, offering university apparel, souvenirs, books, stationery, gifts, PPE, medical products, computers, IT accessories, and repair services.

Job Summary

Join our university retail team to create a welcoming shopping experience by selling souvenirs and merchandise while supporting daily store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly, proactive, and professional customer service to students, alumni, and visitors
  • Engage customers by providing informed product recommendations
  • Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints effectively to maintain satisfaction
  • Support achievement of store sales targets through active promotion of campaigns and featured products
  • Upsell and cross-sell merchandise to increase sales revenue
  • Operate POS system accurately for sales, refunds, and exchanges
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organise merchandise displays to enhance shopping experience
  • Replenish stock and ensure shelves are well-merchandised and visually appealing
  • Assist in stocktaking and inventory control to maintain accurate stock levels
  • Ensure visual merchandising displays are neat, attractive, and follow guidelines
  • Support promotional and seasonal display setups
  • For Senior Retail Assistant: coordinate daily store operations and staff deployment
  • For Senior Retail Assistant: plan staff rosters to ensure adequate manpower coverage
  • For Senior Retail Assistant: provide guidance and support to part-time staff

Required competencies and certifications

  • Ability to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays
  • Basic numeracy and confidence in handling cash transactions

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Prior retail or customer service experience
  • Good communication skills in English (Mandarin is an advantage toserve a wider customer base)
  • Interest in campus environment and lifestyle retail
  • Ability to engage a diverse customer base including students, staff, alumni, and tourists
  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Friendly, approachable, and service-oriented personality
  • GCE ‘N’ / ‘O’ Level, Diploma or equivalent
