Service Supervisor

Position Overview

The Service Supervisor is responsible for supporting front-end store operations by ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient checkout processes, and proper supervision of courtesy clerks and cashiers. This role assists the Service Operations Manager in maintaining service standards, resolving customer concerns, and driving a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Experience
  • Deliver and model outstanding customer service at all times
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and professionally
  • Ensure front-end cleanliness, organization, and readiness
  • Promote a friendly, welcoming store environment
Front-End Operations
  • Supervise daily operations of the checkstands and service desk
  • Monitor checkout flow and adjust staffing to minimize wait times
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed
  • Support opening and closing procedures as assigned
Team Leadership
  • Provide direction and support to cashiers and courtesy clerks
  • Assist with training new hires on front-end processes and service expectations
  • Reinforce company policies, service standards, and productivity goals
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
Operational Support
  • Assist with scheduling adjustments based on business needs
  • Monitor and maintain supply levels (bags, receipt paper, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety guidelines
  • Support initiatives to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of front-end operations and cash handling
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent walking, bending, and lifting (up to 25 lbs)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
