Social Worker (Clinical)

About the Position: This position is located within the Department of Emergency Medicine in the Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Screen and interview patients to conduct bio-psychosocial evaluations using expert knowledge of psychological counseling principles and practices.

Assess and manage crisis situations to ensure immediate and effective intervention for service members.

Deliver individual and group therapy using appropriate modalities, including brief problem-focused, cognitive-mental, and client-centered approaches.

Evaluate treatment effectiveness using objective, measurable outcomes to guide adjustments that enhance compliance and clinical efficacy.

Provide clinical and administrative guidance to paraprofessionals and trainees through observation, structured feedback, competency verification, and performance input.

Document patient care and treatment recommendations in the medical record within 72 hours of each clinical encounter to ensure timely and accurate communication.
