SOUS CHEF
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Sous Chef to assist in preparing and cooking North and South Indian and Malay dishes, support kitchen operations, maintain hygiene, and work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food ingredients by cutting, cleaning, marinating, and portioning to support cooking processes
- Assist the Chef in cooking North and South Indian and Malay dishes following recipes and quality standards
- Support daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth, timely food service delivery
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene to comply with food safety standards
- Clean kitchen areas, equipment, and workstations to uphold sanitation requirements
- Follow recipes and instructions precisely to maintain consistent food quality
- Assist with plating and food presentation to enhance customer satisfaction
- Maintain punctuality and good attendance to support team reliability
- Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality food and positive customer experiences
Required competencies and certifications
- Possess or be willing to obtain a valid Food Hygiene Certificate
- Basic experience or knowledge in North, South Indian, and Malay cuisine
- Ability to prepare food ingredients and assist in cooking
- Understanding of cleanliness and food safety practices
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays
