Spa Therapist

  • Perform professional massage therapies and body treatments, ensuring guest comfort, safety, and relaxation whilst adhering to Fairmont Spa protocols
  • Develop and maintain expertise in various massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and aromatherapy
  • Conduct thorough consultations with guests to understand their needs and tailor treatments accordingly
  • Maintain immaculate cleanliness and proper stocking of treatment rooms, preparing for appointments as required
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including answering queries about spa facilities and services, and promoting spa offerings and retail products
  • Stay current with industry trends, maintain valid professional licences, and participate in ongoing training to enhance service quality
  • Support overall spa operations, including reception, retail, and marketing activities when needed, and collaborate effectively with other departments
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including emergency protocols and safe working practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through active participation in departmental meetings and cross-training programmes
  • Maintain accurate and detailed client records, including treatment notes and product recommendations
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute ideas for improving spa services and guest experiences
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new spa treatments and packages

Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy or equivalent (CIDESCO, CIBTAC, ITEC highly desirable)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a luxury spa, wellness centre, or 5‑star hospitality environment
  • Strong proficiency in massage therapy including Swedish, deep tissue, and relaxation techniques
  • Experience delivering advanced face and body treatments in line with professional training
  • Excellent communication and guest‑care skills suited to a luxury wellness environment
  • High standard of personal presentation consistent with Fairmont brand expectations
  • Strong understanding of hygiene, safety, and compliance standards including COSHH and treatment‑room protocols
  • Ability to work flexibly including weekends, evenings, and peak seasonal periods
  • Confidence with retail recommendations and product knowledge to enhance the guest experience
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends
