Staff Psychologist
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
*** Recruitment or Relocation incentive may be authorized for eligible, highly qualified candidates! *** The Staff Psychologist plays a dynamic and essential role within the Neuropsychology Clinic, driving its success through expert neuropsychological assessment and innovative neurocognitive rehabilitation therapy. They also contribute to shaping the next generation of psychologists by actively participating in the Psychology Internship Training Committee, providing direct supervision to interns, and leading impactful training seminars. Major duties include but are not limited to: Delivers a full spectrum of psycho-diagnostic services and selects the most effective psychotherapeutic techniques to ensure exceptional patient care. Completes, in a timely manner, all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system, as appropriate. Provides clinical supervision to various disciplines and levels of training, including trainees seeking licensure in psychology. Offers leadership guidance and consultation to staff of units to which assigned. Serves as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees and assists in their formulation of the psychological characteristics and appropriate treatment expectations regarding their patients. Delivers engaging training to medical center staff, medical students, medical and psychiatric residents, nursing students, fellows and other graduate or post-graduate trainees. Presents meaningful outcome data and research at VA, regional, and/or national scientific and professional conferences. Assists in preparation of Requests For Proposals and contributes to grant-writing efforts, as assigned.
