Staff Software Engineer, Web3

You will own and execute the technical vision for blockchain infrastructure and tokenization systems. You will design, build, and operate core backend services, write production code, and lead complex implementations. You will improve developer practices and adopt AI tooling, drive reliability, observability, correctness, and security, and mentor engineers through design reviews and architecture discussions. You will influence platform direction by aligning with adjacent teams and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and execution for Robinhood Chain, the Tokenization Engine, and the Robinhood Wallet
• Design, build, and operate the core services that power Robinhood Chain, the Tokenization Engine, and the Robinhood Wallet
• Write production code and lead complex implementations while setting engineering quality standards
• Improve developer practices and lead the adoption of AI tooling to maximize engineering output
• Drive technical excellence across reliability, correctness, observability, and security
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through design reviews and architecture discussions
• Influence platform direction by aligning with adjacent organizations and company-wide initiatives

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale, distributed systems in production environments
• Expertise in backend development using languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures
• 3+ years leading large-scale technical initiatives with ownership spanning multiple teams or complex systems
• Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals
• Proven ability to simplify complex problems, make sound tradeoffs, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders
• Strong ownership mindset with a track record of delivering high-impact, end-to-end product outcomes
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing engineers
