Steel Structure Engineer
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Review of contract, technical drawing and equipment specifications to meet design obligations.
- On time execution of design and engineering production drawing plan for awarded projects.
- To liaise with designer, classification, vendors and client to meet new building, ship repair and conversion specification compliances.
- Ability to read design drawings and carry out Interpretation based on classification rules and Maritime regulation.
- Address to technical comment in writing, prepare solution proposal and prepare drawing remarks to correspond with related parties.
- Prepare production drawing based on class reviewed drawings or client issued drawings.
- Drawing responsibility to cover preparing of general arrangement, outfitting drawing, lifesaving arrangement, structure strength calculation, structure block construction plan, weight calculation, weight control, structure lifting arrangement etc.
- Assist commercial newbuilding and ship repair in tender exercise for newbuilding and conversion projects. Generating basic design concept to align with tender.
- To work independently with a team.
Requirements:
- Polytechnic/ Degree in Marine or Naval Arch. or equivalent.
- At least 3 - 5 years of engineering experience in structure field for marine or offshore related industries.
- Microsoft Words, Excel, Power point and AutoCad.
- Required to travel other countries for technical meeting.
- Understand and ability to interpret marine structure dwg to meet technical specifications and carry out discussion with client.
