Substitute Preschool Teacher

As a substitute teacher for preschool, you are responsible for providing instruction, care and managing classroom environments in the absence of the regular teacher.

Preschool Director
Responsibilities
- To provide as closely as possible the same successful support that would exist if the regularly appointed teacher were in attendance
- Establish and maintain efficient classroom management procedures and standards of student behavior.
- Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators
- Ensure the safety of students at all times
- Maintain established routines/schedules and procedures of the school and classroom to which the substitute is assigned
- Leave notes for the regular teacher at the end of the teaching day.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned by the Preschool Director or lead teacher.
Requirements
- Teaching experience preferred
- High School Diploma required
- Punctuality and dependability
- Flexibility in the job assignment
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Note that the specific duties, responsibilities, and hours of a substitute teacher may vary depending on the classroom.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit on the floor, bend, and engage in physical activities with children.
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds, as needed.
Hours
Substitute hours will vary depending on their assignment.
