Job Summary

The Supercharge Operations Technician inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and supports BYD charging stations to ensure safe and reliable charging services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on charging equipment to ensure operational reliability
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot chargers and associated electrical systems to identify faults
  • Diagnose equipment issues and execute repairs or replace components to restore functionality
  • Escalate complex technical problems to appropriate teams for resolution
  • Conduct routine site inspections and assess charger conditions to maintain service standards
  • Ensure chargers are clean, operational, and properly maintained for user safety and satisfaction
  • Support charger installation, commissioning, and testing activities to facilitate deployment
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory to support maintenance efficiency
  • Follow all safety procedures and work instructions to uphold a safe working environment
  • Report hazards, incidents, and equipment defects promptly to ensure compliance and safety
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and company safety requirements during all operations
  • Complete service reports and maintenance records accurately to document work performed
  • Update maintenance activities in the designated system for tracking and accountability
  • Record faults, repairs, and spare parts usage to maintain accurate service history
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to resolve customer-reported charging issues promptly
  • Support customer issue resolution to enhance user experience and operational uptime

Required competencies and certifications

  • NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in electrical, facilities, maintenance, or technical support work
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to perform site-based and hands-on technical work

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Possession of electrical licenses/certifications is an advantage
  • Class 3 driving licence preferred
