SUPERVISORY HISTORIAN

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to Lineage, Honors, and Heraldry Division (HOL), Air Force Historical Research Agency.
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Lineage, Honors, and Heraldry Division ensuring that it complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Represents the Air Force Historical Research Agency with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Serves as the Department of the Air Force's expert consultant on heritage, organization, lineage, and honors, providing authoritative advice to Air Staff, Major Commands (MAJCOMs), Field Commands (FLDCOMs), and individual units on organizational history, heraldry, and honors. Plans, researches, organizes, and writes historical manuscripts on a variety of subjects, including DAF organization, plans, personalities, and operations.
