Technical Sales Support III – Solutions Sales Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the initial technical resource for internal sales teams, distributors, and end users

  • Manage incoming technical support calls, that have been escalated from Technical Sales Support I and II.

  • Specify product fit for use.

  • Review new applications and utilize independent judgment to determine the proper equipment to be sold to a customer; crossover competitor’s products to Burkert

  • Request product variations or forward on to Engineering for customization of products

  • Create combinations such as Burkert standard accessories plus sensors, control SOV plus controller, or process valve plus accessory to sell to a customer as an assembly

  • Request part numbers, assembly procedures and standards per ID number from Engineering

  • Define parts for one-time orders to satisfy immediate/important customer demands from the existing US Portfolio

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and installations generally on the phone with customers

  • Training others on product specifications- Distributors, Customers, and Burkert employees

  • Preform discovery calls and go onsite to customers’ locations with the ASM to capture and provide insight to technical constraints and needs.

  • Review, create and analyze CAD drawings

  • Assist with the overseeing of Technical Sales Support I and II.

  • Build and deliver technical presentations, documents and demonstrations.

  • Provide post sales customer support on customers site as needed.

  • Project management duties with the ASM and Systemhaus.

  • Other duties as assigned and required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of customer service or inside experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Batchelor degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred

  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office

  • Proficient in SAP

  • Proficient in CAD or other 3D model system

  • Must have a deep understanding of Process Flow and System Integrations

  • Up to 50% Travel to trade shows, customers, distributors

  • Ability to stand/walk/bend/lift up to (50) fifty pounds for up to 5 hours per day
