About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Technician III to join our workshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, servicing, and repair of heavy-duty commercial vehicles. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest quality and safety standards while delivering excellent service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, routine, and annual maintenance on heavy-duty trucks.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and transmission systems.
- Conduct inspections and servicing in accordance with manufacturer standards and workshop procedures.
- Perform oil, lubricant, coolant, grease, and fluid replacement across vehicle systems.
- Carry out brake system inspections, adjustments, and diagnostics.
- Perform transmission and gearbox inspections, adjustments, and repairs.
- Conduct basic wheel alignment, tyre inspections, and suspension checks.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical tools to identify fault codes and system issues.
- Read and interpret vehicle electrical circuit diagrams.
- Use multimeters and diagnostic equipment for electrical testing and fault tracing.
- Perform diagnostics on engine, transmission, braking, electrical, and telematics systems.
- Support breakdown recovery and on-site troubleshooting when required.
- Ensure all repairs and servicing activities meet manufacturer and workshop quality standards.
- Accurately document repair activities, labour hours, and findings in work orders.
- Follow warranty procedures and service guidelines.
- Ensure genuine parts are used in accordance with service requirements.
- Maintain compliance with workplace safety, environmental, and company policies.
- Attend customer breakdowns when assigned.
Requirements
- NITEC in Automotive Technology, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline
- Diploma in Automotive Engineering or related field
- Valid Singapore Class 3, 4, or 5 Driving Licence.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
- Experience with Japanese and/or European truck brands preferred.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including: Diesel engines, Transmissions and gearboxes, Brake systems, Electrical systems, Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and fault-finding procedures.
