Tunnel Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor daily TBM excavation, ring building, backfill grouting, and alignment control to ensure progress meets project specifications and timeline
  • Review and analyze TBM data logs and parameters including face pressure, torque, and advance rate to identify and mitigate ground settlement and face instability risks
  • Interpret geotechnical instrumentation monitoring reports to support risk mitigation during tunnelling operations
  • Enforce strict compliance with workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations specific to underground tunnelling and compressed air works
  • Prepare detailed daily and weekly tunnelling progress reports to track project status
  • Collaborate with the Main Contractor to identify and resolve on-site technical challenges promptly

Required competencies and certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in civil infrastructure with direct hands-on involvement in TBM tunnelling operations
  • Ability to work under compressed air environment
  • Willingness to work 6 days per week and shifts during critical project phases
  • Availability to be stationed at the project site office
