Vessel Operations Executive
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily vessel operations, including cargo loading and discharging activities.
- Liaise with port authorities, agents, terminals, bunker suppliers, and service providers to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor vessel schedules, voyage progress, and operational performance.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, cargo manifests, and stowage plans.
- Support voyage planning activities, including bunker procurement and route optimisation.
- Handle operational issues and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate operational records and internal databases.
- Assist in monitoring voyage costs and operational budgets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable maritime regulations.
- Participate in initiatives to improve operational processes and efficiency.
Requirements
- Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Relevant experience in vessel operations or shipping industry preferred.
- Familiarity with port operations and shipping documentation processes.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin (spoken and written) to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders.
