Assistant Cook

Roles:

  • Assist the chef and kitchen staff in preparing food.
  • Support daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth food preparation and service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring food items.
  2. Assist in cooking and plating dishes according to recipes and instructions from the chef.
  3. Ensure food is stored properly and safely following food safety regulations.
  4. Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food preparation areas.
  5. Help receive, inspect, and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies.
  6. Monitor stock levels and inform the chef or supervisor when supplies are running low.
  7. Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain a clean kitchen environment.
  8. Follow all workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
  9. Assist with packing and serving food when required.
  10. Perform other kitchen-related duties assigned by the chef or kitchen supervisor.
