About the RoleThe Department of Internal Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center invites applications for Division Chief of Cardiology/Cardio-Oncology as well as Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiologists to join our growing Cardio-Oncology division. These opportunities offer the chance to practice at the forefront of cardiovascular care within a nationally recognized cancer center dedicated to advancing multidisciplinary oncology treatment and survivorship.
The Cardiology/Cardio-Oncology team works closely with oncologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary specialists to diagnose and manage cardiovascular complications associated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and cancer survivorship. As Roswell Park continues to expand its cardio-oncology services and advanced cardiac imaging capabilities, this is an exciting time to join a collaborative and rapidly evolving program.
The Division Chief role is ideal for a physician leader passionate about program growth, strategic vision, mentorship, and advancing the future of cardio-oncology care. Academic cardiologists joining the division will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative clinical care, education, and optional research initiatives within a highly supportive academic environment.
What You’ll Do
• Provide comprehensive Clinical Cardiology and Cardio-Oncology services for patients across the cancer care continuum
• Diagnose and manage cardiovascular complications related to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and cancer survivorship
• Perform and interpret ECGs, transthoracic echocardiography including strain imaging, and transesophageal echocardiography
• Collaborate closely with oncology, surgery, radiation oncology, critical care, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient-centered care
• Participate in the continued expansion of cardio-oncology and advanced cardiac imaging services
• Lead and support strategic growth initiatives within the Cardiology/Cardio-Oncology division
• Develop innovative clinical pathways and multidisciplinary care models
• Foster collaborative relationships across departments and external clinical partners
• Support expansion into advanced cardiac imaging services including stress echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac MRI
• Contribute to operational excellence, quality initiatives, and patient-centered care improvements
• Participate in clinical studies, translational initiatives, and cardio-oncology research opportunities
• Protected research time available for interested candidates
• Engage in mentorship and academic development through Roswell Park’s collaborative research and mentoring infrastructure
• Contribute to resident, fellow, and trainee education within an academic medical environment
• Foster a culture of collaboration, communication, accountability, and innovation aligned with High Reliability Organization principles
• Build strong interdisciplinary partnerships across Roswell Park’s oncology and medical specialties
• Support academic and institutional committee participation as appropriate
About the Department
The Cardiology/Cardio-Oncology program at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center provides highly specialized cardiovascular care for oncology patients and survivors within a multidisciplinary academic cancer center environment. The division collaborates closely with medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, critical care, and survivorship programs to optimize cardiovascular health throughout cancer treatment and recovery.
As part of an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, the division is committed to advancing innovative cardio-oncology care models, expanding cardiac imaging capabilities, and supporting clinical research initiatives that improve long-term outcomes for patients with cancer.

What You’ll Bring
• MD, DO, or equivalent degree with Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease
• Eligibility for licensure to practice medicine in the State of New York
• Strong clinical expertise in cardiology and interest in cardio-oncology care
• ASCeXAM testamur status and/or extensive echocardiography experience required
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary oncology environments
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered cardiovascular care for oncology patients and survivors
• Interest in academic medicine, mentorship, quality improvement, and program development
• Executive presence, professionalism, and adaptability within a dynamic academic healthcare environment
Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceLicense and Certification Requirement
1. License to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York or License to practice as a dentist in the State of New York as required for the area of expertise.
2. Possession of ABIM board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases.
Education and Experience
Medical Doctor degree or Doctor of Dental Science degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in cardiovascular diseases including six (6) months in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred, but Not Required
• Leadership experience and interest in directing or expanding a Cardiology/Cardio-Oncology division
• Active ABIM certification in Internal Medicine
• Board Eligibility or Certification in Nuclear Cardiology
• Experience or interest in stress echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, or cardiac MRI
• Interest in clinical research, cardio-oncology trials, and translational cardiovascular initiatives
• Dedication to fostering a culture grounded in innovation, inclusion, accountability, compassion, safety, and High Reliability Organization principles
